Responsible Breeding

In the Loro Parque Foundation we have the largest and most diverse collection of parrots in the world, a resource of enormous value where we put into practice a responsible breeding program, which has three main objectives:

  • Achieve a genetic safety net for endangered species.
  • Reduce pressure from poachers on the wild populations, by trading worldwide between breeders with species born and bred in captivity.
  • Contributing to income, which is used for financing conservation and research projects.
