The president of Loro Parque Fundación, Christoph Kiessling, and the regional director of CaixaBank in the Canary Islands, Manuel Afonso, took part in the renewal of the agreement in which Kiessling stressed the importance of the union between the private sector and non-profit organisations “as a key to the future of the planet”.

Loro Parque Fundación and the “la Caixa” Foundation, through CaixaBank, have renewed their collaboration agreement to promote the protection and conservation of marine biodiversity. This support, which has been in place since 2017, has made it possible to strengthen various initiatives in favour of marine fauna and environmental awareness.

The event took place this Tuesday at the Loro Parque facilities and was attended by the president of Loro Parque Fundación, Christoph Kiessling; the regional director of CaixaBank in the Canary Islands, Manuel Afonso; and the director of Loro Parque Fundación, Javier Almunia.

Thanks to this continued support, the “la Caixa” Foundation has become one of the main collaborators of the travelling cetacean exhibition developed by the Loro Parque Foundation. The aim of this project is to raise awareness and promote understanding of the situation of the different species of cetaceans that inhabit the waters of Macaronesia, a region of which the Canary Islands archipelago forms part.

This initiative is part of Loro Parque Fundación’s efforts to promote environmental education and the protection of marine fauna, providing a space where the public can learn more about the richness of marine ecosystems and the challenges faced by their inhabitants.

During the renewal of the agreement, the president of Loro Parque Fundación, Christoph Kiessling, highlighted the importance of this alliance: “la Caixa” Foundation is one of the Foundation’s great allies, and its commitment to marine conservation is an example of the positive impact that can be generated by synergies between entities committed to the environment”.

“With the backing of “la Caixa” Foundation, this project will be able to go ahead, reinforcing the work of raising awareness and promoting actions for the preservation of cetaceans in their natural environment”, said Kiessling.

Likewise, Loro Parque Fundación stresses the importance of continuing to seek support to finance its conservation and environmental education projects. The collaboration of committed entities is essential to guarantee the continuity of these initiatives and to extend their impact on the protection of the environment and marine biodiversity. “The union between the private sector and non-profit organisations “is key to the future of the planet”, said Kiessling.

With this new support, both foundations renew their commitment to the fight for the conservation of the environment, demonstrating once again that the union between the private sector and non-profit organisations is key to the future of the planet.
