Proposals can be submitted until 31 July through the Foundation’s official website
Loro Parque Fundación has opened the proposal submission period for its call for funding for conservation, research and education projects for the year 2027. Applications may be submitted until 31 July through the form available on the Foundation’s official website.
This call is aimed at initiatives aligned with Loro Parque Fundación’s mission to protect biodiversity and contribute to the conservation of endangered species. Submitted projects must relate to endangered species and be supported by an NGO, university, conservation centre or other recognised scientific or conservation organisation.
The Foundation will pay special attention to proposals focused on parrots, marine species and terrestrial or marine ecosystems of high ecological value. Furthermore, projects must be linked to the three fundamental pillars of Loro Parque Fundación: conservation, research and education.
As part of its environmental commitment, Loro Parque Fundación will also view positively collaboration with organisations or teams that can demonstrate adequate waste management for the waste generated during fieldwork phases, thereby reinforcing the sustainability of the actions carried out in the field.
With over 300 projects completed and an investment exceeding 30 million dollars, the Loro Parque Foundation has established itself as one of the world’s most effective organisations in species conservation. Thanks to its work, 18 species have been saved from extinction, including emblematic cases such as the Lear’s macaw, of which there are now more than 1,100 individuals in its natural habitat, and the improvement in the conservation status of six snails endemic to the Canary Islands.
Every year, the Foundation receives hundreds of proposals from different parts of the world, which are rigorously analysed by a committee of experts. The evaluation is carried out following established scientific criteria and taking the IUCN Red List as a reference, which classifies species according to their level of threat, from “Least Concern” to “Extinct”.
With this new call, Loro Parque Fundación reaffirms its commitment to international cooperation, applied research and the protection of threatened species, promoting projects capable of generating real impact and contributing to reducing the presence of species on the Red List.
Interested organisations must complete and submit their proposal through the official form before 31 July.
